Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof saves six locations in bankruptcy plan - 500 jobs secured
After the assembly of creditors on May 28, the insolvency plan of Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof GmbH approved, the insolvency administrator Stefan Denkhaus and the Galeria management were able to continue successfully. Due to subsequent offers of the landlords, this has become possible for economically viable solutions. Unfortunately, this was not the case at the other locations for economic reasons, so that they have to be closed.
The agreement to continue the six branches leads to securing around 500 jobs at Galeria. This is a positive development in particular for the employees concerned and to revitalize the city centers. The insolvency administrator Stefan Denkhaus thanks everyone involved, especially among the representatives of the cities and politics on site.
Galeria CEO Olivier van den Bosche is pleased with the opportunity to get Galeria in a competitive size. With the six other locations, Galeria is now present in a total of 82 branches across Germany. He thanks the colleagues on site who do their best every day and are now certainty. This day represents a milestone and strengthens Galeria on her further way to the future.
