New inclusive game landscape opened in Krautstrasse

In Friedrichshain, a new inclusive game landscape was opened, which offers children with and without physical restrictions the opportunity to play together. The "trip to distant galaxies" offers different age groups a generous game area. A participation procedure made it possible for children, young people, the local daycare and residents to bring their ideas.

District Mayor Clara Herrmann expressed a positive statement about the redesign and emphasized the promotion of inclusion and participation. District City Councilor Annika Gerold also emphasized the importance of playing together and moving outdoors. The measure was financed with 904,000 euros from the "Sustainable Renewal" program and corresponds to a decision of the district assembly.

In the future, the playgrounds will be connected as a pedestrian zone by redesigning Krautstraße. Ecological goals such as breakdown, rainwater infiltration and greening are also implemented. The game landscape not only creates space for fun and fun, but also for encounter and environmental protection.
