New design for urban harbor: online participation for preliminary design planning started

The construction measures at the urban port in Berlin, which were planned in autumn 2023, have important goals to improve foot and bicycle traffic infrastructure, to create a new playground, to maintain green spaces and to promote measures for climate adaptation and climate protection. The first step in the planning is the preliminary draft planning, which has been developed in the past few months by the street and green space office, green spaces department, and incorporates design ideas from the open space development concept of 2021.
The preliminary draft planning is presented via the online platform Mein.berlin.de in various subject areas such as nature, play and movement, development and path relationships, residence offers and other things. Residents and interested parties have the opportunity to submit their suggestions and information on planning. In addition to the online participation, there is the possibility to give feedback on site at the community work team at the Urbanhafen Feedback.
Online and on-site participation will take place from May 6th to 31, 2024. The results of the participation will be presented in a public event on July 3, 2024 in the neighborhood house in Urbanstrasse. The planned construction work at the Urbanhafen promise an upgrading of the district and strengthening the local recreational opportunities for the local residents. The participation of the public is an important step to involve the needs and wishes of the residents in the planning and to create an environment worth living in for everyone.
