Heat action day in Berlin: Prevention for vulnerable groups
On June 5 and 6, 2024, information events on the subject of heat protection take place in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg. In view of climate change and rising temperatures, heat is the greatest health risk in Germany. Vulnerable groups such as children, older people, pregnant women, previous ill and homeless are particularly at risk. The Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg health department therefore wants to raise awareness of these groups with targeted information and tips on heat prevention and explain them how they can protect themselves from the health risks.
The events take place on June 5 to 3 p.m. in the integral meeting center at Machlewskistraße 25e and on June 6 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the former town hall Kreuzberg, BVV hall, in Yorckstraße 4-11. Max Kindler, district councilor for youth, family and health, emphasizes the importance of heat protection as health protection and emphasizes that preventive measures against heat are a future -oriented task, also in the public health service.
At the events, participants have the opportunity to ask questions and to talk to a specialist from the field of infection protection, environmental health protection and disaster protection. Media representatives can contact the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg health department for further information.
