Graphic Novel about Ernst Grube: Book presentation with Hannah Brinkmann
On Monday, December 9th, at 7 p.m., the audience awaits an extraordinary event in the workroom of the district central library Pablo Neruda in Berlin! The talented Hamburg comic artist Hannah Brinkmann presents her fascinated new work: "Time heals wounds"! This unconventional graphic novel unfolds the impressive history of the Shoah-surviving Ernst Grube , whose moving experiences go deep into the heart.
In her gripping story, Brinkmann, together with Ernst Grube , researched the darkest chapters of the past and brought to light. This former * first degree mix of first degree * was the victim of the brutal Nuremberg racial laws. When he was just a few years old, he had to experience how his family fought for survival during the Nazi rule. Fate caught up with him in 1945 when he was deported to Theresienstadt in one of the last transports. But hope returned when the Red Army freed him from the clutches of horror.
an eventful life in the shadow of history
After the war, Ernst Grube found its place in the *communist movement of the FRG *, where he fought passionately for his beliefs. But that was not without consequences: in the 1950s he was convicted of his political activities and brought behind bars! In front of the Federal Court of Justice, Ernst Grube once served as the first prosecutor among the Nazis - a confrontation that not only raised his life, but also the question of justice and injustice.
The story of Ernst Grube is masterfully staged in "Time heals wounds". The connection between its vulnerable soul and the systematic injustices of the past reveals that there are wounds that never heal completely. His experiences urgently remind us that the shadows of history continue to exist in our present.
