Friedenstraße in Friedrichshain: Local wild trees planted in a newly designed medium strip
The Friedenstrasse in Friedrichshain receives a green redesign. After the median has been provided with protective measures and partially planted, plantations of 35 domestic wild perennials are currently taking place. Since September 2023, the median has been redesigned to prevent illegal vehicle traffic and increase the quality of the Green Infrastructure. The floor was upgraded, the location -friendly seeds were introduced and wild beehede aids installed.
The measures serve to protect the trees, biodiversity and rainwater management. The use of existing materials and the purchase of regional providers pay attention to sustainability. A new way for visitors was created to make the green area walkable. In addition, informative signs were set up.
These measures were initiated by district councilor Annika Gerold, who emphasizes that the quality of stay increases, improves rainwater management and an important contribution to biodiversity and climate adjustment is made. The newly designed area in Friedenstrasse is thus a green and lively area in Friedrichshain.
