Aggressive citizens in court for insults and threats

The press release No. 50 of 14.03.2024 informs about two cases of aggressive behavior towards employees of the regulatory office in Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg. On June 22, 2023, an employee of the regulatory office in Kochhannstrasse was insulted when she punished a violation of the ban on holding. The accused was sentenced to a fine of 1600 euros. Another incident occurred on February 29, 2024 in Ritterstraße when a citizen became failing due to the throwing away of a cigarette button and insulted and threatened an employee of the regulatory office. He was sentenced to a fine of 750 euros.

These cases clearly show that insults and threats to employees of the regulatory office are taken seriously and are punished. Annika Gerold, district councilor for traffic, green spaces, order and environment, emphasized the importance of the deployment of employees for security and order in the district.

It is worrying that respect for authoritarian characters and employees of the regulatory office decreases and accumulates aggressive behavior. This could have various causes, such as general dissatisfaction with official regulations or increased willingness to aggress in society.

In the following table, the two cases are summarized with the relevant information:

| Date of the incident | Place of the incident | Allegation | Convention |
| ——————— | --—————- | June 22, 2023 | Friedrichshain | Insult | 1600 euro fine |
| February 29, 2024 | Kreuzberg | Insult, threat | 750 euros fine |

It is important that such incidents are not trivialized and that the employees of the regulatory office are protected from aggressive behavior. The company should raise respect and recognition for the work of these people, who ensure security and order in the districts every day.
