FINCKENSTEINALLEE: Construction site extended - diversions for road users
In Berlin, an extensive project is currently being implemented to renew the sewage and fresh water pipes. The Berlin Water Businesses (BWB) have started working in Finckensteinallee since June 26, 2024. These measures were originally supposed to be completed faster, but the BWB has now decided to extend the construction work by the end of November 2024.
This extension leads to a complete blocking of the Finckensteinallee between house number 149 and the branching into Carstennstrasse and Ringstrasse. For residents and road users, this means considerable restrictions.
traffic -side effects for buses and cars
The bus travelers are particularly affected. Due to the blocking, the BVG bus X11 can no longer drive over the Finckensteinallee. In order to enable the passengers to have a certain mobility, the BVG has set up a detour. This leads in an easterly direction over the streets of Hochbaumstrasse, Altdorfer Straße and Baseler Straße. At the same time, a detour was organized in a western direction via Theklastraße, Altdorfer Straße and Hochbaumstraße.
Drivers also have to adjust to diversions. An adapted route leads via Carstennstrasse, Osteg, Seehofstrasse and Dahlemer Weg. These diversions are important to maintain the flow of traffic in the region during the construction work.
alternative routes for cyclists
Cyclists are also affected by the construction work. Your detour leads over the Dahlemer Weg, the Weißwasserweg and the ring road. It is crucial that road users respect these new routes in order not to endanger their security and that of the construction workers.
It remains to be seen how the construction work will affect the surrounding areas. However, the Berlin water operations emphasize the need for these measures to improve the capital's infrastructure. The renewal of the water pipes is an important step to ensure both the water supply and wastewater disposal in the city in the long term.
