"Fire fighting and disaster protection in the European Union are an essential part of the EU security policy. At their meeting in Paris, the representative organizations of the fire brigades of the EU member states reaffirm their extraordinary commitment and their determination to strengthen disaster protection", says the final document signed by all participants. DFV President Banse had urgently made the background in Paris: "Climate change and wars represent an unprecedented threat to society. Vegetation fires and floods as comprehensive areas of use, violent conflicts in which emergency services will become victims: The fire brigades have to face these challenges."
In order to adequately represent the fire brigades as an integral and indispensable part of the security architecture in the national and Europe -wide context in the European Union, the next meeting in October in Brussels is intended to specify the establishment of a permanently occupied office in the heart of the EU. The German Fire Brigade Association has had a representation at the European Union since 2008. The event -related office is housed in the House of the Hessian State Representation.

The goal is to establish a federal government of the fire brigade associations in the political center of the European Union and to better represent the interests of the fire brigade members. In his speech in the French National Assembly, DFV President Karl-Heinz Banse emphasized that the emergency services have the top priority and that no state interests should play a role.
A final document was signed as part of the meeting, which emphasizes the extraordinary commitment of the representative organizations of the fire brigades of the EU member states for disaster protection.
