Discover the European connections in Tegel
Next Saturday, July 12, 2024, all citizens have the opportunity to take a unique neighborhood walk through Tegel. The meeting point is at 4 p.m. at the Schinkelbrunnen near the Alt-Tegel underground station. This initiative, which is organized by the Europa Union Berlin e.V. and the district's EU representative, offers the opportunity to get to know the European influences in our immediate vicinity.
The approximately 2.5-hour walk leads along important places such as the Humboldt library, the Tegel Castle and the Blau-Weiß Tegel water sports club. The route continues to the archaic archangel, over the sixth bridge to the Greenwich promenade. Finally, the Wetterstein Café invites you to a cozy exchange. During the walk, the participants learn more about the European references of the sights, the city twinning in the district and the activities of the EU officers.
District Mayor Emine Demirbüken-Wegner emphasizes the importance of this tradition: "It is of great importance to consciously perceive the connections to Europe in our immediate environment. This walk enables citizens to discover the variety of European influences in Tegel."
Participation in this exciting neighborhood walk is free of charge, but the number of places is limited. Interested parties are asked to register in advance via the following link: Registration for the Kiez walk . Be there and experience Tegel from a completely new perspective!
