"fashion, art and innovations - the tour of the Weißensee Kunsthochschule Berlin"

On July 20 and 21, 2024, the Weißensee Kunsthochschule Berlin opens its doors for the "Tour 2024 - Open House". This annual event enables visitors to explore the studios, workshops and laboratories of the art college and to discover the work of 800 emerging artists and designers. Exhibitions are offered in over 40 rooms, as well as performances, films, lectures and guided tours that give an insight into the diverse topics and work processes of the students.

The design of fashion today has far -reaching social, ecological and historical aspects. During the tour, questions are raised on how intelligent materials can contribute to the cooling of the cities and how colonial structures and Eurocentrist perspectives can be reflected and broken out in art. In addition, it is illuminated how robotics and 3D printing change the design process of young designers.

The annual exhibition "Tour 2024" presents the projects and theses of the students of the Weißensee Kunsthochschule Berlin from the study year 2023/24. The exhibition offers innovative solutions for pressing questions of the future. This makes it clear what influence art and design have on our daily life.

The tour takes place not only in the art college itself, but also in neighboring Kandinsky Haus and in the Kunsthalle on Hamburger Platz. On Saturday, July 20th and Sunday, July 21, 2024, from 12 noon to 8 p.m., the public has the opportunity to visit these unique art spaces. The final presentations of the students begin a week earlier.

These final presentations cover a wide range. On July 11th, the field of fashion design starts with the fashion show "Seefashion24" in front of the arts and crafts museum. On July 18, the master students of painting and sculpture invite you to the vernissage of the exhibition "Nothing is impossible" in the Berlin-Kreuzberg municipal workshop. And on July 19, the graduates of visual communication open their final exhibition in the project rooms in the project rooms not far from the Jewish Museum.

Admission to all exhibitions is free, with the exception of the fashion show "Seefashion24", for which registration is required.
