Electrical inhalators: tips on the application and purchase criteria for gluely respiratory tract
The flu wave has reached Germany and the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) has around 2,000 new diseases per 100,000 inhabitants in the fifth calendar week. In addition to the medication recommended by doctors, inhalation devices can also help with cold symptoms. Inhalators, also called fuels, can be used for various symptoms of the upper and lower airways, such as with flu infections, chronic asthma or intensive use of voting. Depending on the area of application, you can nebulize either pure saline solution or prescribed medication, for example to loosen mucus in the bronchi or in the lungs.
The TÜV association gives tips on buying and using electrical inhalation devices. There are different types of inhalation devices, including compressor, ultrasound and membrane venues. The prices for inhalation devices vary depending on the functions and accessories, but are usually between 30 and 250 euros. In the event of uncertainty about which device is suitable for individual needs, it is recommended to ask the doctor for advice. If there is a medical recipe, the health insurance generally assumes the costs for the inhalation device minus the statutory additional payment.
There are several purchase criteria that should be observed when buying an inhalation device. The filling volume indicates how much active ingredient solution the inhalator can absorb, while the mutual performance indicates how much liquid can be atomized per minute. The particle size is important because the smaller the particles are, the deeper you get into the airways. The noise level can play a role depending on the frequency of use and the accessories should be variable to facilitate the use of the device. When buying, attention should be paid to the certification of the device, such as seals of independent test points.
For the correct use of the inhalation device, the hands should be washed thoroughly before use and the device should be cleaned after each use. The hose or oral/nose attachment are connected to the device and the container is filled with the inhalation solution or the medication. Then the mouthpiece is tightened with the lips and the device is switched on. The mouth should be breathed through the mouth during the entire period. After the application, the device is switched off, separated from the power grid and cleaned.
For children there are special inhalators that are designed in animal form to take away children. Parents should make sure that the mask closes properly so that inhalation has an optimal effect. Inhalators for children meet various security requirements, such as operation with low voltage and securing network power supply.
The TÜV association as a representation of the TÜV test organizations is committed to technical and digital security as well as sustainability of vehicles, products, systems and services. They promote the professional exchange of members and work in regular exchange with politics, authorities, media, companies and consumers.
Enclosed you will find a table with further information on the different types of inhalation devices:
| Type of inhalation device | Description |
| ————————— | --———– |
| Compressor auditor | Powerful devices that are suitable for chronic and severe respiratory diseases. The creation performance can be set individually. |
| Ultrasound lenger | Compact devices that are suitable for uncomplicated respiratory diseases such as runny nose or cough. They have a low noise level and good portability. |
| Membran auditor | Light and compact devices that are suitable for use in children or on the go. They are easy to use and have a low noise level. |
It is important to note that inhalation devices are medical devices and that certain legal requirements must meet. When buying, care should therefore be taken into account and the supplied operating instructions should be read.
