German-American exchange emphasizes the importance of transatlantic friendship
In a time of global challenges, the German-American friendship and cooperation is further strengthened by the parliamentary sponsorship program of the German Bundestag and the US Congress (PPP). The Carl Duisberg Centrum Saarbrücken recently welcomed 14 American students who will complete a two -month German course as part of the program. This exchange, which has been taking place for 41 years, emphasizes the meaning of the transatlantic relationship and promotes intercultural understanding.
The PPP participants have the opportunity to improve their linguistic skills and then successfully act in the German university and professional world. Through living from hosts on site, the students can also dive deeply into German culture. The exchange between the two countries thus contributes significantly to strengthening transatlantic relationships.
The head of the Carl Duisberg Center Saarbrücken, Ellen Awais, emphasizes the importance of this exchange: "Especially in these times it is essential that young people come together from different cultures to learn from each other and work together on a better future. The arrival of these American students is a sign of the ongoing friendship and cooperation between our countries."
The program is promoted by the German and American parliaments and is also open to German young professionals. Interested parties can apply for participation in the summer of 2025 by September 13, 2024.
