The s-station Westkreuz in Charlottenburg, a central hub for commuters, remains without a second access! Despite the urgent need to improve the connection to the surrounding districts of Halensee and Lietzensee, there is no progress in the plans for a new access in the south. The only access leads to the Halenseestrasse, which is heavily frequented and runs directly on the A 100 city highway.

The first ideas for additional access were presented in summer 2016, but nothing has changed since then. The situation remains intolerable for passengers, since the station is not only difficult to reach, but also endangered the safety of the passengers. The lack of investments and progress in this area raises questions and causes resentment among users.

Standstill in the plans

Those responsible do not seem to recognize the urgency of the situation. A second access would not only be a relief for the existing traffic flows, but would also significantly increase the safety and comfort of the travelers. But hope for an early implementation is disappearing, while the passengers continue to wait for a solution.
