Ukrainian refugees will find refuge in the St. Gabriel monastery

The St. Gabriel Monastery in Berlin served until January 2022 as the place of prayer for world peace through religious sisters. After the Russian attack on Ukraine in March 2022, 28 Ukrainian mothers, grandmothers and 39 children were protected in the monastery. Together they built up a new life there by using a community kitchen, laundry and garden. Childcare is organized in turn, which facilitates Integration in Berlin.

Alla Belikova-Shoichet, even in 1996 as a refugee to Berlin, is one of the organizers of community life in the monastery. She is the founder of several social companies and a member of the State Advisory Board for Participation. She has been supporting the Ukrainian refugees in integration since 2022 and successfully convey them to the labor market, especially in hotel and restaurants.

Interested parties are invited, on February 23, 2024, from 12 noon to 1 p.m., with Senator Cansel Kiziltepe and the Senate for Integration and Migration, Katarina Niewiedzial, as well as Alla Belikova-Shoichet and the residents of the monastery. The meeting takes place in the former St. Gabriel monastery in Bayernallee 31, 14052 Berlin, followed by a tour of the building.

to take part in the event is asked to register by February 22, 2024, 4 p.m.
