The new Christmas market in Treptow-Köpenick, which opened its gates on November 8, attracts the masses with a very special Highlight: an 85-meter-high free fall tower that catapults the visitors to dizzying heights and then falls into the depths with a breathtaking 90 km/h. This courageous attraction is not only a thrill, but also a real magnet for adventurous, like the Berliner Zeitung reported.

The opening of the market accompanied by district mayor Oliver Igel (SPD) was a complete success. Visitors flocked to enjoy the festive atmosphere, which was characterized by delicious mulled wine and seductive treats. But while many visited the traditional stands, others had only come on the tower because of the adrenaline. A young man named Redur, who wanted to overcome his fear of heights, described his exciting experience: "The falling down is a blatant feeling. It was so cool!"

The Berlin winter dream is more than just a Christmas market; It is an action -packed hype with a total of 61 stands and 21 rides. In addition to the free fall tower, there is also a ferris wheel, a chain carousel at a height of 40 meters and numerous roller coasters. A children's carousel and a fairy tale railway are waiting for the little guests. And the best? Entry is free! A special highlight is the family day where all rides are offered half of the price.

The selection of drinks is just as tempting: for only four euros there are cherry and apple-cinnamon mulled wine that perfectly match the winter mood. Visitors can decide whether they want to experience a short but exciting free case for eight euros or would rather invest in the delicious drinks. The atmosphere is lively, and the faces of the passengers who leave the tower shine for joy.

The location of the market is also remarkable: it is located on a former scrap place that has now been transformed into a lively festival area. District Mayor Hikel was optimistic about the redesign of the site, which is due to serve as a caravan square for tourists from 2025. "We are happy that this stain is eliminated and the area is reactivated," he said. The first days of the market already show that the number of visitors outperforms the expectations, which indicates a promising future for this new winter dream.

The opening times of the Berlin winter dream are from Monday to Thursday from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. and on Sundays and public holidays from 12 noon to 9 p.m. The market remains closed on November 24th, but the anticipation for the coming weeks is already noticeable.
