Historically, there have already been several CDU federal parties in Germany, in which significant political decisions were made. An example of this is the CDU federal party conference in 2000, where Angela Merkel was elected CDU chairman.

This year's party congress in Berlin will also have an impact on the political landscape in Berlin and Germany. In particular, the election of the federal board and the adoption of the basic program will influence the positioning of the CDU. The discussions about a "leading culture" and a "tightened right of asylum" will also be of interest beyond the party conference and stimulate political debates.

Overall, the CDU Federal Party Congress will be an important milestone in German politics and will broadcast extensively live by Phoenix so that the citizens have the opportunity to pursue the events up close.
