Nationwide minimum wage test: Zollblatt cover in Brandenburg
an outcry through the bureaucracy! Last Thursday, the main customs office in Potsdam was in use to get to the bottom of the minimum wage in Brandenburg - a spectacular action that did not leave any questions!
Together with the Ministry of Economics, Work and Energy (MWAE) as well as other institutions such as the district authorities and the tax investigation, a comprehensive special test was carried out. The goal? Compliance with the statutory minimum wage! And the result? In an incredible 34 cases, suspects have been found that now have further in -depth investigations!
the missions and their focus
The big lightning visit included the thorough review of 115 people - a real effort! A total of 56 forces of financial control undeclared work and 12 employees of the cooperating authorities were deployed to take a close look at the situation. In particular, barbershops in Potsdam, as well as a catering business, kiosks and farms in northwestern Brandenburg were the focus of the inspectors.
References to possible violations are alarming: the topics range from the non -granted payment of the statutory minimum wage to serious allegations of illegal work recording and advancement. The authorities draw all the stops to ensure that the laws do not only exist on paper!
minimum wage: a steadily growing topic
But what is behind all the excitement? Since January 1, 2015, the minimum wage law (Milog) has ensured a regulated framework that is intended to secure the income of employees. The minimum wage of 8.50 euros at the time has long been history. From January 1, 2024, it will be raised to a proud 12.41 euros gross per hour. Another plus is in prospect - 12.82 euros from 2025!
In a fraction of a second, it is decided whether someone is paid fairly for their work or the legally defined limit is exceeded. The clarification of these exams is not only important for those affected, but also for society as a whole! The question remains: What other surprises will bring the coming weeks when the subsequent investigations begin?
With the current numbers and topics in mind, it is to be hoped that the situation will soon turn to the positive and that all employees will receive the recognition they deserve!
