A tragic traffic accident shook Friedrichsfelde yesterday morning: An 84-year-old driver raced along Einbecker Straße in his Ford and hit a 29-year-old mother with her two-year-old son in a stroller on a pedestrian crossing. Eyewitnesses reported high speed when the accident occurred at 10 a.m.
The shocked rescue workers immediately took mother and child to the hospital, where both needed urgent surgery. While the mother survived the life-threatening drama, the little boy could no longer be saved and tragically died. The senior who was driving was uninjured.
