A tragic traffic accident shook Mariendorf last night when a 19-year-old man lost his life. The young driver was on the Mariendorfer Damm towards Alt-Mariendorf at around 11:20 p.m. when there was a serious collision with a small van, which was directed by a 21-year-old when changing lanes. The victim's car fell into skid, crashed into the curb and crashed head -on against a tree.
The fire brigade's rescue workers had to free the man from his significantly damaged vehicle and took him to the hospital. Despite all the efforts, the 19-year-old succumbed to his life-threatening injuries. Fortunately, the driver and passenger of the small van were not injured. While the investigation into the course of the accident continued, the scene of the accident remained closed until the morning, which led to significant traffic disorders.
