The forces of the Berlin water protection police will soon receive two new vehicles to hover through the capital waters. This new acquisition apparently has a serious background. Interior Senator Iris Spranger emphasized that the new vehicles are more agile and faster than the conventional patrol boats and enable the water protection police to better react and intervene to different situations on the waters.

The new "Watercrafts" of the Berlin water protection police should be 4.62 meters long, 1.27 meters wide and 412 kilograms and bring an output of 250 hp to the Berlin water surfaces. They offer space for a maximum of three emergency services and are equipped with special rescue boards in order to be able to transport injuries to the country, especially gently. The water protection police have so far had 15 police patrol boats, four civil boats and three stocking tubes. The two new "Watercrafts" are now expanding the fleet of the water protection police. According to Berlin's police President Barbara Slovik, the water protection police accompanied and protected almost 300 events on the water in 2022, which illustrates the need for such new watercraft.
