Berlin property management is expanding rental contracts with household without domestic violence - an initiative against domestic violence.
According to a report by BZ Berlin, 10.4 percent more cases were registered in Berlin in 2022 in 2022 than in the previous year. The police moved out more than 17,000 times for such incidents, with experts assuming that the number of unreported cases is even higher. In view of these alarming numbers, a Berlin property management, the Business Cooperative Berlin landowner (WGBG), has started to expand their lease to expand an investment with the topic of "household without domestic violence".
In the system for the rental agreement, the contact details of the social service of Catholic women (SKF Berlin), who offers victims of domestic violence, also find help. Flyers are hung in the hallways that, in addition to emergency numbers and fault services, also provide information to whom victims or witnesses to domestic violence can also
The WGBG looks after a total of 2200 households and has already reached around 5000 Berliners. The initiating cooperative hopes that other homeowners, landlords and the state -owned housing associations will follow their example and increasingly devote themselves to the problem of domestic violence in real estate. The in -house initiative "House without Domestic Violence" is available for all home owners on the homepage of the cooperative.
Birgit Danschke, board member of the WGBG, emphasizes that domestic violence takes place in all kinds of real estate and is not limited to certain residential areas. The initiative should therefore spread across Berlin. The “House without Domestic Violence” campaign was launched in 2020 by the Social Service of Catholic Women (SKF e.V. Berlin) and the creative agency Peix Health Group and is accompanied by prominent supporters such as actresses, moderators and politicians, including the district mayor of Neukölln, Martin Hikel.
These efforts are an important step to raise awareness of domestic violence, to help sacrifice and to sensitize the entire real estate industry to the problem. It is hoped that further property management and landlords in Berlin will follow this example and take measures against domestic violence. (Source: According to a report by www.bz-berlin.de )
