Berlin: Raid against drug dealers - over one million euros in assets confiscated
Germany's capital Berlin has once again become the scene of a successful police campaign against organized drug trafficking. The Berlin police were able to arrest a 35-year-old man who is suspected of selling thousands of kilograms of illegal drugs and at the same time accumulating considerable assets.
The investigators became aware of the alleged perpetrator by catching encrypted messages about EncroChate cell phones that had been deciphered some time ago. In this way, they managed to identify the organized drug dealer and uncover their criminal machinations.
At raids in five apartments, two business premises and five bank lockers in various districts of Berlin, the officials were able to secure extensive evidence. In addition to an impressive amount of money of around half a million euros in cash, assets such as business shares on a holding GmbH were also confiscated. But that's not all: the officials also ensured six sharp firearms and 1000 shots of ammunition. In addition, they found banned pyrotechnics, drugs and untracted shisha tobacco.
The arrested is now charged with suspicion of commercial drug trafficking and illegal gun ownership. It is said to have developed a far-reaching network to sell his illegal products. The police estimate that he has sold hundreds of kilograms of marijuana, hashish and cocaine in recent years.
The investigation in the case of the 35-year-old drug dealer will continue because the police assume that there are other accomplices. One is determined to bring all those responsible to court and to put a stop to the illegal drug trafficking in Berlin.
The successful campaign of the Berlin police once again illustrates the persistent approach of the German law enforcement authorities against organized crime and drug trafficking. The drug market is a serious problem that must be countered with all the consequence to ensure the safety of the population. The moving measures and the confiscation of assets and weapons send a strong signal to everyone who wants to work in illegal business. Their actions are not tolerated and the law enforcement authorities strive to take them responsible.
It remains to be seen how the trial against the arrested drug dealer is and what further knowledge the investigation will bring about. However, one thing is certain: the Berlin police take the fight against drug trafficking seriously and will continue to counter illegal activities and protect the citizens of the city.
