At similar events by Eritreans, there were recently riots in Stuttgart and Gießen. Participants and police officers were attacked with stones, bottles and wooden slats. The police had to use batons and pepper spray to stop the attackers.

These riots are a result of the inner-eritan conflict, in which the Central Council of the Eritrean in Germany is accused of supporting the regime in Eritrea. Torture demonstrators from Eritrea came together with the event participants and the police.
