support offers from the Berlin Help Foundation

In the case of such measures, attempts are first made to offer the homeless people on site. Those affected advise social workers from the Berlin Help Foundation and try to impart them in regular accommodation. If these offers are not used and the homeless do not voluntarily vacate the place, evacuation will be set.

evacuation is peaceful

On August 8, 2024, the evacuation of the Blankenstein Park was carried out by the street and green space office. There were still 20 tents with a total of 26 people in the park. The Berlin city cleaning and employee of the regulatory office were also involved. Despite the ignorance of some homeless people, the evacuation was peaceful and without incidents. The help of social workers was crucial.

a thank you to the emergency services

The district councilor Manuela Anders-Granitzki was personally on site and praised the deployment of the Berlin city cleaning employees. It emphasized the importance of preserving the park as a resort for the entire community. Despite the difficult topic of homelessness, it is crucial to also take into account the needs of the residents.
