34-year-old charged with burglaries in Berlin companies: valuable prey with a total value of over 850,000 euros
The Berlin public prosecutor has charged a 34-year-old who is said to have been involved in four burglaries in the basement of companies from September 2020 to December 2021. Together with unknown midsts, he is said to have captured money, gold and luxury watches worth over 850,000 euros, as the public prosecutor said.
In September 2020, the accused tried to break into a furniture store in Niederschöneweide, together with accomplices. At the beginning of November 2021, however, the gang managed to empty the lockers in a bank branch in Berlin-Charlottenburg. Around the Christmas holidays, the suspects gained access to the basement of a fashion shop on Kurfürstendamm with a shell. However, their further project was thwarted by the alarm system.
Two days later, the gang finally stole a 600-kilo safe from a chocolate business in Berlin-Mitte. On video recordings that led to the identification of the 34-year-old, you can see how five men balanced the safe into a van with great effort.
The accused has been in custody since May 11th. He has to answer to the Berlin district court for commercial and in three cases.
