125th anniversary of the German construction industry-celebration in the Humboldt Forum on March 15, 2024

Together with you we would like to celebrate the 125-year history of the German construction industry and cordially invite you to the Humboldt Forum for the ceremony on March 15, 2024. On this day exactly 125 years ago, the Central Association of German Construction Industry (ZDB) was founded as a German employer association for the construction industry.

The German construction industry is a key industry and economic locomotive in the German economy and currently employs more people in the construction industry than in the entire German auto industry. In its 125-year history, the German construction industry has already experienced some economic ups and downs. The housing crisis is currently a challenge for the building commercial companies that are responsible for around 85 percent of the housing construction in Germany.

On the occasion of the anniversary, the history of the German construction industry, but also about current challenges and perspectives, will be discussed. The event will welcome top-class guests such as Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Federal Minister of Housing, Urban Development and Building Klara Geywitz, Governing Mayor of Berlin Kai Wegner, Federal Chairman of the Bauen-AgRar-Umwelt Robert Feiger and President of the Central Association of the Central Association Wolfgang Schubert-Raab.

As part of the event, there is the possibility of obtaining O-tones from Federal Minister of Construction Klara Geywitz, ZDB President Wolfgang Schubert-Raab and ZDB general manager Felix Pakleppa.

Participation in the anniversary event requires prior written confirmation and registration by email by March 9, 2024, 12 p.m.

The Central Association of German Construction Industry was founded on March 15, 1899 as a German employer association for the construction industry. As the largest and oldest construction association in Germany, the ZDB has been ambassador to the German construction industry with its approximately 35,000 medium -sized companies for 125 years. The ZDB is also one of the oldest collective bargaining organizations in Germany and has concluded collective agreements at the federal level for the construction company since 1899.
