Week of the possibilities: Berlin job center promote integration of refugees!
Müllerstraße 147, 13353 Berlin, Deutschland - On June 20, 2025, the “Week of Possibilities” starts in Berlin, which is organized as part of the World Refugee Day. The JobCenter Berlin Mitte, Lichtenberg, Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg and Marzahn-Hellersdorf created this initiative to enable direct encounters between people with escape or migration experience and the actors of the labor market. The aim is to promote access to work, further training and social participation, such as [berlin.de] (https://www.berlin.de/jobcenter/ueber-uns/Pressestelle-der-berliner-jobcenter/Pressemitteilungen/2025/PressMeitungs.
statistics from May 2025 show that around 142,000 people of their work -to -work age from Ukraine and the eight most common asylum domains live in Berlin. More than half of these people strive for an activity in the helper area, with only a part of qualifications for more demanding jobs. This inequality underlines the challenges with which refugees are confronted while trying to integrate into the German labor market.
events of the week
The week of the possibilities includes several events that aim to build bridges between origin and arrival. A central event is the day of possibilities on June 18, 2025 in the Job Center Berlin Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg. In addition, a market of possibilities will take place in the parking lot of the job center Lichtenberg.

Integration of refugees in the job market
The integration of refugee people into the labor market is a central topic that is also emphasized by the employment agencies in Berlin and Brandenburg. Carina Knie-Nürnberg, Managing Director of the Berlin-Brandenburg Regional Directorate, emphasizes the need for strength and courage to gain a foothold in Germany despite existing language barriers and personal challenges. Companies offer trial activities, further training and professional language courses to help refugee people, as on https://www.arbeitsagentur.de/vor-ort/rd-bb/presse/2024-1-es- Usen-starke-und-mut-un-mut-un-mut-un-mut-un-mut-un
Current statistics show that almost 49,000 people from the main domestic countries of origin and Ukraine are employed in Berlin. This means an increase of 7,000 compared to the previous year. In Brandenburg there are almost 15,000 people, which corresponds to an increase of around 2,200. At the same time, 8,900 people in Berlin and 3,800 people in Brandenburg are currently taking part in integration courses to improve their opportunities on the labor market.
