WITT group becomes the new sponsor of the Upper Palatinate Hunters: a sporting advancement

A huge step into the future! The WITT group is now the new partner of the "Oberpfalz Hunters"!

The enthusiasm can be felt everywhere: the Witt Group, an important name in the region, has decided to support the Basketball Team Oberpfalz. And not without reason! This team hides a unique association of ten Upper Palatinate clubs from cities such as Amberg, Weiden and Regensburg. This community made the impressive promotion to the youth Basketball Bundesliga (JBBL) last season, and now there is an exciting further development!

The upheaval to the "Witt Oberpfalz Hunters"

With the new partnership, the U16 JBBL team will now appear under the impressive name "Witt Oberpfalz Hunters"! Johann Kiener, the managing director for Brand and Digital Commerce of the WITT group, is enthusiastic: "We have long observed the positive development of Witt Oberpfalz Hunters and are proud to be able to support the talented players!"

The WITT group has been committed to local initiatives to promote children and adolescents for years. This cooperation will not only strengthen the teams, but will also further advance youth work in the region. Gabriel Ionescu, the tireless coach of the Witt Oberpfalz Hunters, emphasizes: "With the WITT group at our side, we can now bundle all the strength to make the Upper Palatinate even better known in German basketball!"

The “BTO - Basketball Team Oberpfalz” project was launched in 2020 and Kühn pursues the goal of promoting performance -oriented basketball in the region. The players' parents are tirelessly committed to the team, transport them across Europe to the urgently needed training and competitions. The Bavarian Basketball Association supports a service base in Eastern Bavaria!

An impressive run was put on last season! With a flawless record of six wins in six games, the Hunter's Upper Palatinate climbed into the JBBL confidently. But it didn't stay that way: The U16 team not only got the Bavarian, but also the Southeast German championship and even became a German vice cup winner-and that against top-class opponents like Alba Berlin!

Now everyone is looking forward to the upcoming 2024/2025 season. Next Sunday, October 13th, it will be really exciting in the Amberger Trimax Hall when the Witt Oberpfalz Hunters competes against FC Bayern Munich-the incumbent German champion! The underdogs from the Upper Palatinate have big plans and do not shy away from the direct duel with the league voraves.

The hunt has started and the kick-off promises a spectacular basketball fireworks!
