Wind farm plans in the middle mark: Mayor restricts building permits
In a crucial step for the Potsdam-Mittelmark region, the authorities have approved the regional plan Wind for Havelland and Fläming, which now limits the construction of new wind turbines in the south and west of the region. Mayor Michael Knape (non -party) informed the city council that this decision should prevent “wild growth” of up to 170 meters high wind turbines. Although the company Energlan Berlin plans to install six new wind turbines in Bardenitz, there are strong resistance from the residents.
The implementation of this plan only enables the construction of wind turbines in defined priority areas that are already used strongly. Current developments show that there is hardly any space for new facilities in the region. Critics, especially in the municipality of Buckautal, hope that the planned eight wind turbines in the forest on the B107 can still be stopped. Despite resistance, Energieplan Berlin has received a positive preliminary decision for two projects, which gave the construction company a partial profit. The discussion about the development of renewable energies and the interests of the municipalities remains strongly tense, such as is reported .
