A look into the future of the route

The joy of renewed commissioning is short -lived. From August 1, 2025, the route will be closed again for extensive renovations, which should last until April 30, 2026. Deutsche Bahn plans to carry out several measures to modernize the infrastructure, which include the renewal of a total of 181 kilometers of tracks, over 200 switches and around 70 kilometers overhead line.
