Christmas market in Berlin: Mulled wine prices drive visitors into ruin!

The Advent mood has taken Berlin, but the anticipation for the large Christmas market on Alexanderplatz is overshadowed by shocking prices. The market, usually known as the "Touri Christmas market", opened its doors a few days ago and attracts numerous visitors again. But with the high prices for mulled wine and other treats, some are amazed. According to an examination, the prices are unsurpassed here: for a cup of mulled wine, guests have to dig deep into their pockets - a whopping five euros for the drink and an additional five euros cup deposit. So you get to ten euros as a whole, as reported by the Berlin courier.

But the price increases are not only limited to mulled wine. The costs for other delicacies on the Christmas market show similar dimensions: a small shell mushrooms costs seven euros, and a mix plate with waving liver and vegetables even costs a legal 20 euros. Despite the high editions, it turns out that the Berliners and visitors are willing to pay to enjoy the festive atmosphere. "It gets less every year," says a father who is traveling with his children. Another visitor notes that his family has now only spent almost 50 euros for snacks.

A comprehensive analysis of the online portal coupons.de has shown that Berlin is at the top in the nationwide price ranking for mulled wine. The city is shared first with Stuttgart and Munich, while Augsburg lands in second place with 4.75 euros. For a really cheap option, buyers have to travel to Dortmund or Rostock, where the prices are almost 3.50 euros, as the Berliner Zeitung reports. In addition, not only the price for the drink itself has to be observed, but also the high deposit that frightens many visitors when buying mulled wine.

The Situation on the Christmas markets already suggests that the dazzling shiller of the pre -Christmas period also has dark side, which could have a significant impact on expenses for many families. The mulled wine enjoyment quickly becomes expensive pleasure by price tags that are emblazoned on the booths. In the middle of the festive lights and the sounding Christmas carol it could soon become a roller coaster of feelings for visitors.
