Forest fire warnings lowered: heat wave ends in Brandenburg!
In Berlin and Brandenburg, the current weather conditions are showing a positive turnaround. Today, August 16, 2025, only isolated rains will fall in the region, while the forest fire warning levels have been downgraded in many parts. This measure is due to the lower temperatures. The hot, humid air that previously dominated the region is increasingly being pushed southwards. Warning level four continues to apply, particularly in the districts of Uckermark, Prignitz and Ostprignitz-Ruppin, while in the remaining parts of the country the warning level has been lowered to three. On Friday, the highest warning level of five was still active in more than half of the districts.
The upcoming weekend promises pleasantly dry and friendly weather for Berlin and Brandenburg. Meteorologists are expecting temperatures between 23 and 27 degrees for Saturday. There is only very isolated rain in sight and there is a light to moderate wind blowing from the northwest. At night temperatures can drop to 10 to 13 degrees. Lots of sun and only a few clouds are also forecast for Sunday, with highs expected to be 23 to 25 degrees. Rain is not in the forecast for the coming week either, as Monday and Tuesday will remain dry with maximum temperatures between 24 and 29 degrees.
Weather forecasts and outlook
The positive outlook for the weekend is all about relaxation after a long heat wave. In the past, this heat wave had sparked concern about the risk of forest fires and raised the highest warning levels. Fortunately, with the temperatures now dropping and the wind changing, the situation appears to be improving significantly.
It remains to be expected that further meteorological developments will help to further reduce the risk of forest fires. Weather forecasts suggest that this trend could continue in the coming days. A consistently stable weather situation could ultimately lead to the last critical warning levels being lifted in the near future.
The warnings issued and the weather conditions are of great relevance not only for local residents, but also for agriculture and tourism in the region. In this regard, weather developments remain of central interest.
