The leading politicians Sahra Wagenknecht and Alice Schwarzer, together with 36 supporters, once again called for a clear and haunting appeal for an armistice in Ukraine. This manifesto is not the first joint call of the two women. As early as February 2023, Wagenknecht and Schwarzer mobilized around 13,000 people to a large rally in Berlin entitled "Uprising for Peace". There they also called for an immediate ceasefire and peace negotiations for Ukraine, but this also met with violent reviews. In their call, many saw a negation of the right of Ukraine to self -defense. It was also pointed out that the manifesto of right -wing extremists could be partially hijacked, a fact that always causes discussions when carrying out their events. This criticism was rejected by Wagenknecht with the words: "Anyone who wants to demonstrate honest heart with us for peace is welcome", so Zsz.ch .

The new paper from Wagenknecht and Schwarzer also accuses the United States with a joint responsibility for the ongoing conflict escalations in Ukraine. According to the signatories, the outgoing US President Joe Biden, by supporting arms deliveries to Ukraine, allows dangerous actions that significantly increase the risk of Europe. However, this perspective ignores numerous important aspects of the current situation, including the massive attacks of Russia on the Ukrainian civilian population and infrastructure, which shows that both Russia and Ukraine are currently not ready for ceasefire.
