Exemplary initiative: Green Leaf Society e.V.
On July 25th, the first application for an cultivation association for the joint self -growing of cannabis was approved in Berlin. This was carried out in accordance with the consumer canabis law (Kcang), which has been in force in Germany since July 1, 2024. The Green Leaf Society e.V. had submitted the application to the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district office, and after a thorough examination, the approval criteria were fulfilled.
The law attaches particular importance to youth protection, security, non-commercial structures and education about health and search risks. The application was based on the documents of the Free State of Saxony and included detailed concepts, including an extensive health and youth protection concept with around 40 pages.
The application of the Green Leaf Society
The application was characterized by careful preparation, well -thought -out concepts and almost complete documents, which made permission easier. So far, this was the only application from the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district, since the districts are only responsible for applications from their own area of responsibility until clarification at the state level.
Gordon Lemm, Health City Councilor, emphasized that approval does not mean the trivialization of cannabis. He explained that cannabis is still a health risk, especially for children and adolescents. Nevertheless, he praised the application of the Green Leaf Society for his high sense of responsibility and his structural considerations, such as addressing problematic consumers and early detection systems.
lemm encourages responsibility with cannabis to ensure the protection of young people and to counteract criminal structures. He sees the application of the Green Leaf Society as exemplary and hopes that other cultivation associations can learn from it. Every consumer and every consumer can contribute to a responsibility with cannabis, according to Lemm.
