Supposed Löwin near Berlin sighted: the all -clear by the municipality of Kleinmachnow
Incorrect viewing of the run-down Löwin near Berlin-Kleinmachnow is not confirmed
The municipality of Kleinmachnow reported on Friday that the supposed viewing of a runaway led in a forest southwest of Berlin has proven wrong. Instead, a relaxed brook with piglets was scorned up there. The police and hunters then searched for the animal in the forest area up to the highway towards Berlin-Zehlendorf.
Already on the night of Thursday there were reports on the sighting of a big cat at Kleinmachnow. Since then, the police and hunters have been looking for the animal. However, experts expressed doubts that it is actually a lioness.
The exact background of the false report are previously unknown. A citizen had previously given a hint that led to the search. Apparently, however, it was a confusion with a wild sow. The search for the run -down Löwin was then discontinued.
It is not the first time that such malpensions occur in Germany. Again and again large -scale searches are started, which ultimately turn out to be mistakes. Often there are confusion with other animal species or false interpretations of sightings. Nevertheless, it is important to take such reports seriously and to react accordingly in order to rule out possible dangers.
