Telekom improves mobile phone supply in the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald

Deutsche Telekom has improved mobile phone supply in various municipalities in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district in various municipalities in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district. The measures include the construction of a new location and the expansion of three existing locations with LTE and one with 5G. The new or expanded locations are located in the municipalities of Bergholz, Eggesin, Groß Luckow, Pasewalk and Rankwitz. The location in Groß-Luckow was also built along the A20 motorway to ensure better supply in this area. The locations in Eggesin, Groß Luckow and Pasewalk serve the railway line in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Georg von Wagner, company spokesman for Deutsche Telekom, emphasizes the constant need for bandwidth, which increases by around 30 percent annually. For this reason, the mobile phone expansion is continuously pushed forward.

status and outlook

With the new locations and extensions, Telekom now operates a total of 144 locations in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district. The mobile phone supply for households is almost 100 percent. Another 71 locations are to be added by 2026. In addition, extensions with LTE or 5G are planned at 72 radio masts. However, the implementation of these plans depends on the cooperation with the municipalities and property owners in order to rent the required areas. The German radio tower, subsidiary of Telekom, is responsible for the construction of the mobile phone locations. Telekom currently operates over 36,000 mobile phone locations and builds around 1,500 new locations every year.
