Improved mobile phone supply: Telekom is building new locations in Märkisch-Oderland

improved mobile phone connection as a key to local development in the Märkisch-Oderland district

The latest developments in the Märkisch-Oderland district mobile phone supply are not only technical progress, but also significant steps to strengthen regional quality of life. Telekom has set up two new mobile phone locations in the past two months and has expanded another location with LTE. These measures are not only important in order to meet the increasing demands on the bandwidth, but they also play a central role in the digital integration of rural communities.

In the municipalities of Hoppegarten (Mark), Letschin and Wriezen, the expansion significantly improves the mobile phone cover. The location in Hoppegarten is particularly remarkable, which not only provides the surroundings, but also the users along the important railway line in Brandenburg-Nord-Berlin. "The need for range is constantly increasing - around 30 percent per year," says Georg von Wagner, company spokesman for Deutsche Telekom. This statement illustrates the urgency of the expansion and adaptation to the growing digital needs of the population.

The current budget cover is around 99 percent, and Telekom now operates 91 locations in the district. By 2026, the company plans to add another 54 locations, which will offer citizens an even more stable and faster internet connection. In addition to the new mobile locations, extensions of existing radio masts with LTE or even 5G are planned. These developments are crucial to position Märkisch-Oderland as an attractive location for new companies and digital start-ups.

Cooperation with local communities and private owners is essential for Telekom. New locations can only arise from the rental of suitable areas. This interaction between Telekom and the local community also offers an opportunity for owners to generate additional income by providing roofs or surfaces. Interested parties can contact the German radio tower, which is responsible for building up the mobile phone locations.

A strengthened mobile network not only has technical advantages, but also contributes to improving the quality of life in rural regions. People benefit from better reception, which enables them to have easier access to services and information. In order to increase the innovative strength and quality of life of Märkisch-Oderland sustainably, the mobile phone expansion must be further advanced.
