Vacation despite increasing costs: Tips from Klarna how to save - Klarna Sports & Travel Report

Summer time is vacation time! According to the current Klarna Sports & Travel Report, rising living costs have an impact on the holiday plans of many Germans. 62 percent of those surveyed state that the rising costs influence their vacation planning. For 45 percent, the budget is the decisive factor whether you will go on vacation or not this summer.

The global payment network and shopping assistant Klarna, however, gives tips on how to do without vacation despite increasing costs. An early and well -planned vacation planning is the be -all and end -all to save money. 72 percent of Germans surveyed plan their summer vacation about three to six months in advance. If you want to save, you should rely on the low season, since cheaper offers are often available here.

An affordable accommodation is also important in order to be able to afford a vacation. 28 percent of the respondents plan to choose cheaper options this year than in the past. Platforms such as Airbnb or hostels often offer good alternatives to traditional hotels.

In order to save costs, 19 percent of those surveyed plan to make shorter vacations. A short change of wallpaper can also be relaxing and protecting the budget. A trip to the green surroundings also offers the advantage of a short and relaxed arrival and departure, without any airport hustle and bustle.

In order to reduce travel expenses, many Germans opt for a vacation in their own country or in nearby European countries. Almost a third of the respondents (32 percent) are planning a vacation in Germany and 46 percent plan to go on vacation within Europe.

In addition, 15 percent of those surveyed are looking for cheaper transport options. Bus and train trips are not only more environmentally friendly compared to flights, but are often cheaper when booking in good time. Car sharing offers or carpools are also good alternatives.
