New investigation committee for wind power expansion?

Berlin (dpa) - The Bundestag has used a new committee of inquiry to test the wind turbine in Germany. The MPs of the CDU/CSU and those of the Greens voted for the application that received the necessary approval for the establishment of an investigation committee.

allegations against Müller and Schmidt

The meaning of the committee is to illuminate allegations in connection with the promotion of wind power. Bundesergieeminister Julia Müller and Environment Minister Markus Schmidt (both CDU) are particularly in the spotlight. They are accused of having not sufficiently checked the effects of wind turbine and neglected alternative energy sources.

The question arises whether the decisions for expansion of wind power were made on a well -founded basis. Andreas Weber, a member of the energy committee, emphasized the importance of transparency in clarifying responsibilities around the windproof expansion.

Schmidt shows understanding for investigation

Environment Minister Markus Schmidt expressed understanding of the establishment of the committee of inquiry. He was ready to cooperate fully with the committee and to present the decision -making processes transparently. The debate about the expansion of renewable energies in Germany is of great importance and deserves an open processing.

Window expansion in Germany has increased significantly in recent years, whereby the focus is on the discussion about the environmental impact and the effectiveness of this measure. The Federal Government has set itself the goal of further increasing the proportion of renewable energies and thus driving the climate protection.

The new committee of inquiry on the expansion of wind turbines is another example of how the Bundestag can take control of important political decisions. It remains to be seen which knowledge the investigation will bring to light.
