Union stars in the kitchen: Common campaign for the homeless in Berlin!
In an impressive commitment to the Berlin city mission, the Union Berlin players demonstrated their culinary skills. Under the guidance of chef Dirk Seliger, Captain Christopher Trimmel and his teammates Rani Khedira, Kevin Vogt and Kevin Volland presented warm meals for people in need. Instead of standing in the stadium, the footballers snapped fresh vegetables such as broccoli and carrots and showed how important social responsibility is. This great action not only ensured a warm meal, but also a change of perspective, as press spokeswoman Barbara Breuer explained. Many people lived in the city without access to safe sleeping places.
necessary support for the homeless
The city mission is faced with an increasing number of homeless people during the cold winter months. It is estimated that between 6000 and 10,000 people live on the street in Berlin, but there are not enough emergency accommodations to help everyone. The lack of barrier -free sleeping places, as Breuer emphasizes, is particularly problematic, where many people with mobility restrictions cannot get the help they need. While the willingness to support in the run -up to Christmas increases, the city mission appeals to the population, sleeping bags and staple foods to help these people.
new kitchens for training
At the same time, the Evangelical City Mission Karlsruhe reports about a noticeable improvement in its training conditions, thanks to a generous donation from the Sparkassenstiftung. The investment of 10,000 euros has made it possible to renovate the outdated cuisine of the housekeeping training center, which means that the trainees can now learn in a modern environment. "Standing, preparing and cooking on this new kitchen is more fun for us and our trainees," says Martina Möhrle, the head of the training. This shows that a considerable incentive for commitment and support from the community is created both in the city mission as well as in the training facility in order to promote professional cooking and provide necessary help for disadvantaged people.
These actions illustrate the interaction of social institutions and society to help disadvantaged people in difficult times and to provide valuable support, such as Berliner Zeitung and Protestant city mission report.
