Survey: Broker: Optimistic for real estate market 2024 inside

A current survey of more than 500 brokers in Germany shows that more than half of the brokers are optimistic about 2024. The biggest challenge last year was to adapt the prices of the owners and to find liquid prospective buyers. In order to increase the demand for real estate, 40 percent of brokers are increasingly investing in the digitization of their business.

The Immoscout24 living barometer shows an increase in demand for condominiums and single -family houses in the eight largest metropolises for the fourth quarter of 2023. The current survey confirms this trend, since 70 percent of the brokers surveyed state that the demand has increased either continuously during the year or at the end of the year. Around 52 percent of brokers are optimistic for 2024, while a third are neutral and only around 15 percent are pessimistic.

The biggest challenge for brokers last year was the adaptation of the prices of the owners and the finding of liquid buyers. High -quality contact requests were necessary for this. A higher visibility and range as well as additional qualifications were also mentioned as challenges.

In order to boost demand despite the tense market situation, 40 percent of brokers invest more in the digitization of their business and 17 percent rely on the use of new technologies such as artificial intelligence. The topics of data security and transparency as well as the training of the staff are also important.

The survey was carried out by Immoscout24 in January 2024 under 509 brokers in Germany. Immoscout24 is the leading online platform for residential and commercial properties in Germany and works to digitally process transactions around the property.
