The Bundeswehr's surpluses trigger loud gnalls and pressure waves in Berlin and Brandenburg regions
On Monday afternoon, loud bright noises and pressure waves were perceived in western Brandenburg and in the southwest of Berlin, which caused many citizens to alert the rescue workers. However, it turned out that these phenomena were caused by the Bundeswehr aircraft, as a spokesman for the Air Force told RBB.
Specifically, it was the Bundeswehr Eurofighter, which had flowned out the region in the afternoon. These aircraft were on the road at overs sound speed and triggered three overshads. The spokesman said that they were routine test flights and emphasized that no missions by the police had taken place because of the bright noise.
Unfortunately, the speaker could not provide any information about how many planes were on the road exactly in airspace. Nevertheless, the Berlin police and the West Police Directorate in Brandenburg announced that they did not have to record any operations due to the bright noises.
Overall, the perceived bright noises and pressure waves were normal occurrences as part of the Bundeswehr test flights, which can be unusually loud, but no danger. It is important to stay attentive and not to trigger false alarms in such incidents.
