On Tuesday, June 3, 2025, an information event on the U5 subway line takes place. The event is organized by the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district office in cooperation with the Berlin transport companies (BVG). The participants include the district mayor Nadja Zivkovic and various BVG representatives, including the department head of infrastructure management underground and the project manager.
A central topic of the event are the upcoming construction work along the U5, which not only shed light on the benefits of this important east-west connection, but also address the need for closures and replacement disorts. The U5, which is used every day by several hundred thousand passengers, represents a key connection between the eastern edge of Berlin and the city center. For this purpose, the transport contract between the state of Berlin and the BVG Aör made special agreements for continuous upgrading the subway infrastructure.
