Water damage in Fennstraße 31: Help and accommodation for residents - District office deals quickly and professionally
Current developments at Fennstraße 31
The events at Fennstraße 31 on July 16, 2024 continue to have an impact on the community and the residents. After the power supply was interrupted and employees of social housing and the construction and housing supervision of the Treptow-Köpenick district office passed on individual help offers to the residents, it is now clear that the building is uninhabitable.
The security of the residents was a top priority, since there were considerable dangers from water accumulation in parts of the electricity system and serious fire protection defects. Employees of the district office have worked tirelessly to bring the residents into safe accommodations and to provide them with the best possible support.
It can be seen that 13 families with a total of 33 people were successfully accommodated, with most of them being taught in ASOG accommodation. It was taken care of not affecting existing social structures. Many residents continue to plan to stay in touch with the district office and to accept the ongoing support.
It is important to emphasize that the public law contract with the owner in order to provide holiday apartments, hotels and guest houses has no impact on contractual relationships between the tenants and the owner. The district's action was used exclusively to protect and support the residents.
The community thanks everyone involved for their quick and professional help and is still committed to giving the residents the necessary support. The events in Fennstraße 31 have shown how important cooperation and solidarity are in difficult times.
