Road safety: trees along Fürstenwalder Damm must be felled

traffic safety is a top priority- the street and green space office must fell some trees in the week from June 3 to 7, 2024. In Friedrichshagen, at Fürstenwalder Damm, two robinia are felled. The tree with the number L/4 has a circumference of 228 cm and a height of 11 m. It must be felled due to fungal attack and risk of breakage. The tree with the number L/5 has a size of 164 cm and a height of 10 m, it must also be felled for safety reasons.

In connection with the felling of the trees, it is important to emphasize that traffic safety must be guaranteed. Mushroom infestation and risk of breakage can lead to trees unstable and a potential danger for passers -by and road users. The street and green space office therefore has the responsibility to take measures to ensure the safety of everyone.

Historically, the protection of trees and green spaces in cities play an important role. Trees not only contribute to the air purity, but are also indispensable for the cityscape and the well -being of the residents. Nevertheless, measures must be taken in some cases to ensure traffic safety.

In the following table, the information about the trees to be felled is summarized:

| Date | Location | Tree no. | Tree species | Extent (cm) | Height (m) | Falling reason |
| ————- | ——————-—-—- | ————- | ————————- | 03.06.2024 | Fürstenwalder Damm, Friedrichshagen | L/4 | Robinie | 228 | 11 | Mushroom infestation, risk of breakage |
| 03.06.2024 | Fürstenwalder Damm, Friedrichshagen | L/5 | Robinie | 164 | 10 | Security reasons |

It is unfortunate that these measures are necessary, but the security of the citizens is a top priority. The felling of the trees ultimately serves to protect everyone and avoid accidents.
