Traditional festival with a green market and rose baptism in honor immanuel Kants
a journey through the history of botany: the 30th traditional festival at the Späth’s trauma
On September 21 and 22, 2024, the Späth’s trees in Berlin open their goals for a special festival, which is not only exciting for garden lovers, but also for visitors interested in history. Under the motto of the green market, the historical terrain turns into a flower paradise that enchants visitors with gardening ideas, handicrafts and music.
A highlight of the festival is the rose baptism in honor Immanuel Kant. Marianne Motherby, descendant of a friend of the great philosopher, will baptize a newly bred rose in the name "Immanuel Kant". This ceremony marks the 300th birthday of Kant and is part of a new garden ensemble around the carp pond.
Visitors can also look forward to an apple tasting, fruit determination and botanical rarities. Experts like pomologist Dr. Hilmar Schwärzel are available for advice and offer insights into the variety of fauna.
In addition to the dahlia show, perennial presentations and pumpkins in all shapes and colors, visitors can take part in Kremser trips and experience Grimm’s fairy tales in the "House of Trees". There are also handicrafts and archery for children to playfully discover nature.
The festival not only forms the prelude to the golden late summer, but also a tribute to the 300-year history of Späth’s tree nurseries. Through anecdotes from three centuries of Berlin's history, presented by rhyme spokesman Theo Theodor alias Christoph Späth, the combination of tradition and innovation becomes alive.
The traditional festival with a green market offers visitors the opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of botany and experience the variety of nature. An excursion to the Späth’s tree nurseries not only promises a day full of discoveries, but also an insight into the fascinating world of plants.
