The starting signal for art project: kick -off Adler for all in Adlershof

On Friday, June 7th at 7 p.m., the kick -off event "Adler for everyone - art in the city room Adlershof" takes place in the Galerie Adlershof in the Old School Cultural Center in Berlin. A total of ten international artists show an unusual project that will design an exhibition together with the neighborhood around Dörpfeldstrasse for six weeks. This exhibition is an offer to all people to be creative and to participate in the artistic work.

From June 7th to August 17, a total of 40 events will take place, including workshops, discussions and interventions in public space. The participants can draw, collage, walk, talk, listen, write, paint, collect, ditch and much more. The project deals with various topics that illuminate the local context, such as the perception of the city as a habitat for humans and animals, ecological questions, family stories, memories, colonial history and its aftermath and the relationship between man to the built environment.

The exhibition will develop and grow during the term and open in its finished form on July 20. This project is a collaboration between the Galerie Adlershof, the Institute of Art in the context of the University of the Arts Berlin, the Fröbel Kindergarten Campus Kids and the Kiezklub Alte School Adlershof.

The opening event is welcomed by the district councilor for further training, school, culture and sport, Marco Brauchmann. Further in-depth introductions are given by Milena Mercer, head of the municipal galleries Treptow-Köpenick, and Julia Herfurth, artistic teacher at the Institute of Art in the context. All artists will also have their say.
