Project week against racism: young people set signs through art

Die kreative Projektwoche für Jugendliche, die vom BENN-Team in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Jugendclub Fairness organisiert wurde, fand vom 18. bis 22. März in der Jugendfreizeiteinrichtung Fairness in Berlin statt. Im Rahmen der „Internationalen Wochen gegen Rassismus“ setzten sich die Jugendlichen intensiv mit dem Thema Rassismus auseinander. Durch Workshops, Diskussionen und künstlerische Ausdrucksformen konnten sie ihre persönlichen Perspektiven reflektieren und zum Ausdruck bringen. Dabei entstanden sieben gemeinsam geschriebene und gerappte Liedtexte, fünf gemalte Bilder auf Leinwand, ein bedrucktes T-Shirt und Konzeptkunst in Form einer Jacke. The creative project week for young people, which was organized by the Benn team in cooperation with the youth club Fairness, took place from March 18 to 22 in the youth leisure facility Fairness in Berlin. As part of the "international weeks against racism", the young people dealt intensively with the topic of racism. Through workshops, discussions and artistic forms of expression, they were able to reflect on their personal perspectives and express them. The works of art that have arisen are currently being exhibited in the Benn office's shop window and can be visited by the end of May. It is planned that the works of art will later be presented in other places in order to make the perspectives of young people and their examination of racism visible and to appreciate their achievements.

BENN stands for "Berlin develops new neighborhoods" and is carried out by the Senate Department for Urban Development, Building and Living in close cooperation with the Treptow-Köpenick district. The Benn team in Altglienicke is accompanied by the social area-oriented planning coordination (SPK) of the district office.
