Poster competition for children: I am an environmental hero* - this is our purchase of tomorrow!

The poster competition for children in Berlin goes into the 10th round. This year the motto is: "I am an environmental hero - this is our purchase of tomorrow!". Berlin children between the ages of 6 and 12 are called to design creative posters on the subject of future -proof purchasing. The aim is to develop colorful and diverse visions for conscious consumption and to answer the question of how we become environmental hero and shop responsibly to protect the environment and the community.

Anne Sebald, the project manager of the competition and managing director of Wirberlin gGmbH, emphasizes the serious consequences of the consumer society for the planet and the shortage of resources. She sees the competition as a way to create awareness of shopping and to draw attention to the flash -mounted of the planet through packaging waste, especially plastic. Beate Ernst, the patron of the poster competition and initiator of Wirberlin, appeals to adults, environmentally conscious and sustainable.

The winner poster will be shown in the summer of 2024 in Berlin on poster areas, and there are attractive prices to be won. Many of the posters submitted are also presented in various exhibitions in the urban area. Partnerships with companies and media such as Wall GmbH, BSR, PSD Bank Berlin-Brandenburg, the Berliner Morgenpost, Radio Paradiso, the Berlin Zoo and Regional Hero support the competition.

Since 2015, the Wirberlin Initiative has been calling for the annual poster competition of Berlin children to think about the city and the environment and to design appropriate posters. Since then, over 10,000 exhibits have been sent to all of Berlin, which shows how children can creatively convey their ideas and wishes and thus stimulate adults to sustainable rethinking.
